Licensing & regulatory information.
Ontario
We operate under BRX Mortgage Inc. o/a BRX Mortgage, Brokerage Licence No. 13463, regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA). Étienne Goudreau is a licensed Mortgage Broker, Licence No. M15001651
Quebec
We operate under BRX Hypothèque inc., AMF registration No. 608634, regulated by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF). Étienne Goudreau is a Mortgage Broker, Certificate No. 237643, and the Responsible Officer (Dirigeant responsable) of BRX Hypothèque inc.
The Name
Structure Mortgage and Structure Hypothécaire are registered Ontario business names (BIN 1001650036 and BIN 1001650050), used with the approval of BRX Mortgage Inc. and BRX Hypothèque inc. Mortgage brokering services are provided only by licensed mortgage brokers and agents of those brokerages.
Brokerage of record and head office
Head office. The brokerage of record for both entities is at 710 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna BC V1Y 5X5. Regulatory correspondence goes there. The practice itself is virtual, based in the Ottawa Outaouais region.
Verify the licences above. Licence status is recorded by the regulators, not by us, and their registers are always current. Search “BRX Mortgage” and “Goudreau” at fsrao.ca (Ontario) and lautorite.qc.ca (Quebec).
How we are paid.
On most residential files, the lender pays the brokerage a placement fee when the mortgage funds. You do not pay us directly. This is the standard model in Canadian mortgage brokering.
On some files, most often commercial mortgages and files with real structural complexity, the brokerage charges a fee instead. When a file falls in that category, the fee is disclosed in writing and agreed before any work begins. We do not charge undisclosed fees, and we do not change the fee structure mid file.
Compensation does not decide the recommendation. Where two lenders could each serve you well, we recommend the one whose product and terms are better for you. The disclosures specific to your file are provided in writing at engagement, before any mortgage work begins.
Privacy policy.
A mortgage file is the most complete financial picture most people ever share. This section explains, in plain terms, how we handle yours.
This website. The site collects the basics every website receives: browser type, language, and pages visited. The intake form collects what you choose to share. We use it for one thing: reviewing your situation and responding to you. It is not added to a marketing list. The site uses only the cookies it needs to work. No advertising pixels, no visitor profiling.
Your mortgage file. When you engage us, we collect only what the work requires: identification, income, assets, debts, credit history, and the property details. Your Social Insurance Number helps match your credit file accurately, and you can decline to provide it. Your credit report is pulled once, with your written consent.
Your file is shared only with the people the work requires: the lenders considering your application, mortgage default insurers, credit reporting agencies, your lawyer or notary, an appraiser when one is needed, and our brokerage. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for marketing.
Where your file lives. We operate under BRX Mortgage Inc. in Ontario and BRX Hypothèque inc. in Quebec. The brokerage holds the official record of your file and keeps it for the period the regulators require, then destroys it securely. If your information is ever involved in a breach that creates a real risk of harm, we will tell you.
Your rights. You can see the information we hold, correct it, or withdraw consent for future use. Ontario: ask@brxmortgage.com. Quebec: question@brxhypotheque.com. If you are not satisfied with the answer, privacy complaints go to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or, in Quebec, the Commission d’accès à l’information (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
We update this section when the practice or the rules change. The date at the top of the page reflects the latest revision.
Complaints & concerns.
If something we did concerns you, we want to hear it directly. One distinction first: complaints about our conduct or the work follow the steps below. Complaints about how personal information was handled follow the privacy process in section iv, which goes to different regulators.
For Ontario files (BRX Mortgage Inc.)
- Write to BRX Mortgage Inc. at ask@brxmortgage.com with the details. The brokerage acknowledges within three business days and responds within fifteen. If you are not satisfied, FSRA’s current complaint process is at fsrao.ca.
- If you are not satisfied with the response, file a complaint with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) — fsrao.ca/contact-us.
For Québec files (BRX Hypothèque)
Complaints are handled under BRX Hypothèque’s complaint processing policy, which follows Quebec’s complaint handling regulation. Processing is free. Put the complaint in writing: what happened, who was involved, the outcome you seek, and send it to question@brxhypotheque.com. You will receive an acknowledgment, and a final written response within 60 days, with reasons. If you are not satisfied, you can ask at any time to have your complaint record examined by the AMF; the current procedure is at lautorite.qc.ca. A summary of the brokerage’s complaint policy is available on request. https://www.brxhypotheque.com/customer-service
Accessibility.
Our services are available to every client, and we adapt how we work to make that real. If you need an accommodation, alternative document formats, accessible meeting arrangements, or communication support, tell us through the Talk to us form or the brokerage contacts above, and we will arrange it. Accessibility requirements under Ontario and Quebec law are the floor for this, not the ceiling.

General inquiries about the practice
The Talk to us form on the website is the right starting point. New client situations, questions about mortgages, partner referrals, and anything else not specifically regulatory all run through the same intake. Every inquiry receives the same considered review.
